The 2024 City Celebration took place from August 16 to 18, 2024, bringing together over 55,000 participants at more than 170 events held throughout the city. The second edition of the event, continuing the legacy of the Timișoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture program, consolidated its format as a platform dedicated to the community of event organizers, bringing together 71 organizations and seven local festivals. The new main venue, set up in Civic Park and on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard, hosted concerts by Rita Ora, Passenger, and Zdob și Zdub, attended by over 35,000 spectators. The program included concerts, exhibitions, performances, installations, guided tours, workshops, and sports activities, and the extensive accessibility measures—including Romanian sign language interpretation and platforms designed for people with mobility impairments—reaffirmed the event’s commitment to an open and inclusive public space.
